Camping
Camping is a big and fun activity for Pack 143. Last year we had three out-of-town overnight camps including our Big Trip to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. The Scout and parent will need to bring a tent and sleeping bag.
This is family camping, so siblings and friends are invited!!
Meetings
Between the District / Pack and Den there are plenty of activities for Scouts and Parents.
Pack 143 builds the scouting program for kids in multiple sports and activities so there are a lot of opportunities for activity makeup. The meetings we encourage you to attend are:
Den Meetings with same age Scouts (Approximately 2 times per month at an agreed upon time)
Pack Meetings with all ages (normally the frst Monday of the month at Medlock Bridge subdivision clubhouse)
If you are in leadership, including Den leaders, there is a once a month Leadership meeting.
Activities
Other activites throughout the year include:
Rocket Launch
Raingutter Regatta
Founder’s Day Parade
Blue and Gold Dinner
Crossover Ceremony
Volunteer
Cub Scouts is a parent & child activity. The kids get more out of it when they see their parents (Moms and Dads) involved. We gear activities towards families. Because of that, every parent will be asked to participate in some way. That could include taking pictures, organizing a dinner, or leading a song. We also have some leadership roles available to help expand the capabilities of our Pack.
Our Leadership positions include:
Den leaders—will have Boy Scout assistants
Advancement Chair—responsible for badges
Event Coordinator—specific event planning
Camping Coordinator—make sure we don’t starve in the woods
Communications—get the word out
Please consider volunteering for these or other activities. The more you put into Scouting the more your Scout will get out!
Fund Raising
To ensure we can evenly distribute funds back to the pack we manage two fund-raisers each year:
POPCORN - Popcorn is the major fundraiser for the pack
The ‘opt out’ fee or not meeting the $150 minimum sale is $50 per scout.
Prizes for the top sellers, Dens and for reaching the Pack Goal
CAMP CARDS - In Spring we sell Scout Camp Cards. These are $5 each and include a $5 instant coupon so they are easy to sell. The Pack gets 1/2 the money towards events and activities. Selling these cards are optional if you meet the $150 popcorn sales or $50 donation.
